Facing the Fall
All the people I hear say,
They love the cool that starts the day,
Just let winter come our way,
I've done that many years.
I love the sparkling of the frost,
For scarlet leaves, a modest cost,
And, if a bit of sunshine's lost,
It is no cause for tears.
As I see summer cycling down,
Long, darker evenings veil the town,
I don't dread record chill's renown;
It's Florida this year.
