Children's Renewing spirit
If ever laughter and fun can be found,
Unsullied by cunning and spite,
It's grandchildren when high spirits abound,
And the age gap fades out of sight.
The humor, slapstick and full of bright whims,
The songs, new and ones you have known,
Their presence so precious, hold on lest it dims,
As the time of their childhood has flown
From uncertainties, doubts, cares of the day,
Thoughts banished of harshness and lies,
On young voices, I'm transported away;
On a sweet hymn as they harmonize.
