Self Image's Peril

Our faults can’t be the very worst;
It’s harmful just to say it.
Although it may our bubble burst,
Let’s not overplay it.

The positives are plainly there,
If we don’t disguise them.
So don’t reduce to disrepair,
By choosing to despise them.

Although you may evaluate
What others’ thoughts reflect
Reading minds will not facilitate
To lift your self respect.

If you think you may peer forth
Each tragedy foreseeing,
It will not increase your worth,
Contrary, life debris-ing.

Again to say, “The very worst”
Describes my life—not fair.
Almost inviting to be cursed,
At least in disrepair.
